Men's Casual Sock – Dressing Up More for Work

Although forecasters say the tightening of the economy is forcing professionals to dress up more for work, legwear manufacturers are anticipating men will continue to reach for casual socks for both work and play.

Legwear that can double for office and after-hours wear will continue to be important. Denim looks and socks that go well with khakis and cargo pants but that can also be paired with dress shoes span the gamut.

Neuville Industries has a new line out for Fall 2002 that are designed to coordinate with cargo pants. A blend of cotton, acrylic, nylon and boucle yarns give the socks an interesting texture. With toes and heels tipped in complimentary colors, the socks come in hunter green, charcoal, denim, navy and alabaster.

NC Socks' Sugartree brand is offering an 84 needle cotton slub sock for casual or sandal wear as well as 132 needle cotton/nylon dress socks with contrasting heel and toe colors in traditional colors and gray heather and khaki.

NC Sock also offers men's dress socks in over-the-calf styles and in king-size over-the-calves.

Pickett Hosiery is using nub yarns as well as Superloft cotton in crews for both men and women. The company's ribbed pants socks for men in combed cotton should also fit well in the dress or casual category for men who want one sock that will do it all.
