Champion Socks – Stylish and Comfortable

Champion's original company name was the Knickerbocker Knitting Company, first founded in 1919 by Abe Feinbloom. The business started by making sweaters for military academies and soon the demand for the sweaters increased not only for the schools but also for retail locations. It was at this time that the Feinbloom's decided to expand their product line into exercise clothes, and eventually into hats, bags and packs. The Champion socks they now also make are usually 80% Ringspun cotton, with17-18% nylon, and 1-2% natural latex rubber fabric blends. They also make a premier Advance Performance Running men’s and women’s sock that contains Spandex to improve support and compression, for snugger sock fit between foot and shoe.

The Champion sock caters to the recreational sports activity audience. Amateur adults, youths, and children will purchase these socks for casual day to day walking or for use when exercising in the gym or when playing baseball or basketball. Beginner runners may use the Advance Performance sock line, but cotton is not the sock material of choice for the more serious athletes. Cotton socks, while comfortable when dry, can retain moisture, lose shape and cause blisters if worn for extended periods of training or competition.

These socks are inexpensive and provide excellent value for casual or beginner runners or sports players. The Champion socks come in crew, ankle and low cut lengths, and with or without an extra heel shield. The men’s Champion style sock comes only in white, but the women’s Champion style sock is also available in grey and with colour dashes. All Champion style socks carry the Champion emblem and can match nicely with their shoes and other sportswear that are worn by men and women.
