Ankle Socks – Now Also For Men

Women have long understood and enjoyed the advantages of wearing ankle socks, and now men too are discovering them. The wearing of socks allows for foot sweat to be wicked away, and the cushioning effect on the feet. Early on these socks were for fashion only, but this low-cut design has since evolved into the era of sports wear socks.

An ankle sock may now come in sports-ready styles, with all the advantages of the more common longer running and/or walking socks. Appearing almost invisible, these socks are taking over from where the tube style socks once reigned. In more recent years, men too have begun enjoying the advantages of these low cut socks in their sports and also in their casual wear. Men who once preferred to wear casual shoes with no socks at all, have generally switched now to wearing these new socks, keeping their feet cool or warm, and providing the additional shock absorbing benefits of their predecessors.

These short socks are still available for girls and women to wear with their casual shoes in cotton and nylon mixes. Lace sock tops are joined now by fashionable festive and fun logos that are designed for wearing on those festive occasions. Men generally wear these socks in very casual and sporting situations, and the Nike, Reebok and Hummingbird manufactured cotton, nylon and spandex blends ensure a pair for each activity and foot.
