Football Socks – Durability is a Must

Anyone who has played football as a youth or an adult will appreciate the value of being able to wear good football socks to ensure comfort as well as needing durability to withstand some of the wear and tear of the game. Football and rugby socks need to meet several different requirements. The football sock must be able to hold the shin guards in place for rugby and also must be able to wick away moisture from your feet to keep them cool and keep blisters from forming. Some teams will provide socks were others will provide a list of sock manufacturers that they consider to be the best.

Always use your best judgement when purchasing a football sock. Talk to other players to compare results of what they find works for them and avoid those that did not work. Some socks will be too thin and will not wick away the moisture, causing blisters and sores on your feet. Without proper socks for rugby and football, players can end up with very painful conditions which can prevent them from playing.

There are many different types of socks, however most people will recommend a well padded sock with lots of support for ankles and pads. The sock should also be good at removing the moisture from your feet. Once you have tried several socks, you will quickly be able to decide which ones are the best for you and will provide the best support for your shins, ankles and also keep your feet cool.
