Thorlos Sport Sock – Tailored To The Desired Protection Level

THOR•LO is introducing an entirely new way for consumers to quickly identify the Thorlos sock product that best fits their specific activity-based needs. The originator and leading producer of sports-specific socks has repositioned their product offering to focus on levels of protection designated 3, 2 & 1.

THOR•LO’s Protection Level Guide, found on the back of the package, provides the consumer with information that simplifies the process of choosing the right Level of Protection to meet the demands for specific activities. If there is one primary benefit that THOR•LO provides to consumers, it is to enhance the quality of their lives by providing foot protection to keep them healthy, mobile and active, states THOR•LO’s founder Jim Throneburg.

Individuals have different preferences and needs, especially when it comes to footwear. The Protection Level Guide makes it easier to select the right Thorlos to meet individual needs. The overall density and resilience of the fabric in the heel and toe area of the product must be considered in order to properly define the level of protection offered.

A consumer’s desired protection level varies according to individual biomechanics, foot-health issues and the need for increased protection, for example, due to carrying a heavy pack on a long hike or on a challenging climb or during high-impact activities.

Thorlos Protection Levels are defined as: Protection Level 3 provides the maximum protection for the most rugged and challenging activities and weather conditions. This level is the best overall choice for all activities relative to preventing the breakdown, over time, of the fatty pads in an individual’s feet. Protection Level 2 (Moderate) – Provides moderate protection for those activities that are somewhat strenuous but are not of long duration.

If a Level 2 product does not provide sufficient protection for the activity, then a Protection Level 3 product can be selected and will provide the ultimate foot protection.

Protection Level 1 (Minimum) – Provides minimum protection for those activities that range from casual/leisure activities to a walk in the park. If a Level 1 product does not provide sufficient protection for the activity, then a Protection Level 2 product can be selected. For the most protection available today, select a Protection Level 3 product.
