Rocky Durable Sock – Long-Lasting Versatility

Rocky Shoes & Boots, Inc., launched the ROCKY® Kids and ROCKY® Gear lines of children's footwear, apparel and accessory products last week at the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. These products complement the Company's leading position in the rugged outdoor footwear market and will be sold through existing sales channels. Initial response to these new lines at the SHOT Show was positive, including substantial commitments from several of the Company's key accounts.

The ROCKY® Kids line offers several popular styles of ROCKY® footwear in children's sizes, while ROCKY® Gear includes 15 styles of socks and several styles of lined and unlined parkas, jackets, pants, bib overalls, and fleece apparel. All of these items are being sourced through production agreements with third-party manufacturers in accordance with the Company's strict product specifications. These two new lines will only be available to retail and catalog accounts that also purchase ROCKY® footwear. The apparel will be displayed in retail stores at ROCKY® Gear outfitter stations and also be highlighted in retail catalogs of major accounts.

We are very pleased to offer our customers additional ways to enjoy the ROCKY® brand. These new products are a solid fit for individual and family lifestyles. Additionally, they reflect value and innovation-two important attributes the ROCKY® brand is known for among our loyal and growing customer base. During the past two decades we have worked diligently to build the ROCKY® brand and the introduction of these new lines represents a strategic extension of those efforts.

We anticipate these new products will contribute to the Company's sales and profitability for the year 2002. Our outlook is influenced by the fact that we already enjoy a solid base of business through the previous licensing arrangement, which we believe can be expanded to include a higher percentage of our retail and catalog accounts.

The Company recently re-acquired the licensing rights to ROCKY® Kids and ROCKY® socks. License fees attributable to these sales were realized during the year 2001. Beginning this year, sale of these products will be recorded as sales on the Company's financial statements.
